Dr Freddie Bray is Deputy Head of the Cancer Information Section at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), in Lyon, France. He has worked previously at IARC (1998-2005) and at the Cancer Registry of Norway and University of Oslo (2005-2010). He has a PhD in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and degrees in Statistics from the University of Aberdeen and the University of Leicester respectively. Dr. Bray's areas of research revolve around the descriptive epidemiology of cancer, including the estimation of the global cancer burden, the analysis and interpretation of time trends of cancer and future predictions, and their linkages with human development transitions.
