Janet Prvu Bettger, ScD, FAHA is an associate professor and health services researcher at the Duke University School of Nursing and Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI), and a Senior Fellow of the Duke Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development. She serves as a Senior Scientist for the Duke Translational Nursing Institute (DTNI) and is a Fellow of the American Heart Association.
Dr. Bettger's research is dedicated to improving health care quality and care coordination for older adults with chronic conditions, particularly stroke and those at risk for functional decline or rehospitalization. She is the principal investigator (PI) on a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) grant to study the comparative effectiveness of rehabilitation and post-acute care services for survivors of an acute ischemic stroke and is the project PI on two NIH funded studies to examine outcomes after inpatient rehabilitation.
