Joan Hamory Hicks completed her Ph.D. in Economics at UC Berkeley and first joined CEGA as a postdoctoral fellow in 2009. Her research focuses on health, education and transitions to adulthood among rural African youth. She has been working in various capacities in Africa since 2003, and has been conducting field work and assisting in various randomized interventions in Kenya since 2004.
