Julia Driessen is Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management in the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh. She has secondary appointments in the Department of Economics and Department of Biomedical Informatics. Her research interests include program evaluation and the links between health and socioeconomic status, as well as the indirect economic effects of health interventions.
Driessen's work includes analyses of the social and economic effects of vaccination programs in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, and the Philippines, and she is currently conducting research on the health and economic impacts of EMRs and other eHealth technologies in low-resource settings. In addition, she is interested in how U.S consumers respond to pharmacy incentives and the health effects of multiple pharmacy use.
