Professor Juliana Chan is a clinician scientist graduated from the Liverpool University, UK, with accreditations in endocrinology and clinical pharmacology after receiving a period of training in psychiatry. She is currently Professor of Medicine and Therapeutics, Founding Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Diabetes and Obesity and Director, Clinical Research Management Office, at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Prince of Wales Hospital.
Her major areas of interest include epidemiology, genetics, clinical trials and care models in diabetes. She has supervised 50 postgraduate students and post doctoral fellows and co-authored in 550 peer reviewed articles, editorials and book chapters. She is one of the principal investigators of the NIH-funded Global Diabetes Consortium and a Hong Kong Government funded theme -based research involving a multiomic analysis of diabetes and its complications for personalized care.
