Morton M Silverman

Dr. Morton Silverman is currently the Senior Advisor to the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) and Senior Medical Advisor to The Jed Foundation. He is also the Senior Science Advisor to the USA Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado, Denver School of Medicine.

From 1996-2009 Dr. Silverman was the Editor-in-Chief of Suicide and Life-Threatening Behavior. From 2002-2013 he was a member of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Scientific Council. He is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the International Association for Suicide Research. He currently is the Treasurer of the International Association for Suicide Prevention. He is the co-author or author of over 45 peer-reviewed publications and over 30 book chapters, and co-author of The Comprehensive Textbook of Suicidology (2000) and Adolescent Suicide: Assessment and Intervention (2006).
