Shuchi Anand

Shuchi Anand, MD is an Instructor of Medicine-Nephrology at the Stanford University School of Medicine.  In addition to serving as an editor, Suchi also serves as the coordinator for the DCP3 Cardiovascular, Respiratory, and Related Disorders volume.  She was formerly a Fogarty Fellow at the Centre for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC) in New Delhi. She completed her medical education at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, her internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and her nephrology fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is also completing coursework for a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology at Stanford University School of Medicine. She recently completed a 2-year F32 fellowship on physical activity in patients on dialysis.   

She is interested in chronic disease management in a global health context, particularly looking at modifiable risk factors as related to chronic kidney disease.  She is also interested in care of patients with end-stage renal disease in resource-limited settings. In India she is working with the CCDC to evaluate the epidemiology of chronic kidney disease in South Asia and to survey dialysis practices in the burgeoning dialysis units in New Delhi.
