Phramongkutklao College of Medicine, Professor Emeritusa
Lt. General Nopadol Wora-Urai is a distinguished Thai surgeon and currently serves as Emeritus professor of surgery at Phramongkutklao College of Medicine in Bangkok, Thailand. He also serves as Advisor on the Education Committee at Phramongkutklao Hospital. After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine, Mahidol University at Siriraj Hospital in Bangkok, Dr. Wora-Urai completed his interenship and subsequently trained in surgery in the United States. He was a resident in general surgery at the Columbus Hospital in Chicago from 1972-1977 and also gained surgical experience as a Fellow at the Cook County Hospital.
After returning to Thailand, Dr. Wora-Urai held numerous leadership roles at the Phramongkutklao Military Hospital and the College of Medicine of Thailand. He has been Governor of the Thailand Chapter of the American College of Surgeons and national delegate to the International Society of Surgery. He was Secretary-General of the International Association of Surgeons. Most recently, he served as President of the Royal College of Surgeons in Thailand from 2009 to 2011.
Dr. Wora-Urai also serves as a member of the DCP3 Advisory Committee to the Editors.
