The Hobart Anaesthetic Group
Andrew is originally from Adelaide and graduated from medical school at Flinders University of South Australia in 1994. He commenced anaesthetic training in the United Kingdom in 1988. He returned to Australia to continue training, and developed an interest in obstetric anaesthesia working at the Mercy Hospital for Women in Melbourne. This interest continued with further sub-specialty training in obstetric anaesthesia at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Scotland. Andrew returned to Australia in 2005 where he commenced as a Staff Specialist at the Royal Hobart Hospital, and joined the Hobart Anaesthetic Group in the same year.
Andrew has special interests in obstetric anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, and working in developing countries. He has previously performed volunteer work in South Africa and Laos, and continues to visit Laos regularly to help train anaesthetists in that country.
