Dr. Isabelle Soerjomataram is a medical epidemiologist at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) with research interests in international variation in the burden of cancer, impact of prevention on cancer, new cancer indicators and impact of cancer on healthy ageing Scientist at the International Agency for Research on Cancer. She specializes in descriptive cancer epidemiology and health impact assessment. Dr. Soerjomataram received her medical degree from the University of Indonesia in 2001, followed by a PhD in cancer epidemiology with a thesis on the epidemiology of multiple cancers at the Erasmus Medical Centre, Rotterdam in 2007. Before moving to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, she went to the Harvard School of Public Health as a visiting scholar under a personal fellowship from the Dutch Scientific Foundation.
