Patrick Papania is a communications strategist and project manager who has devoted his career to building social capital around initiatives to improve the standard of living of underprivileged populations in developing countries. He has 29 years of experience implementing development programs that embody communications, social-marketing, behavior change, cross-sector engagement, public-private partnerships, civil-society strengthening and system transformation. He is an accomplished partnership marketing specialist, educational-video producer and program designer with demonstrated skills implementing strategic mobilization campaigns to engage targeted audiences in social and economic development issues in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas.
Papania has developed signature communications-driven methodologies for system integration and has provided technical assistance in donor-funded projects in over twenty-five countries. He has extensive experience in design and conceptualization of technical information dissemination, community mobilization, large group interventions, media campaigns, advertising, video production, technical workshop/conference organization, gender equity, partnership marketing, systems restructuring, health, workforce development, environmental policy, education, agro-business, civil society strengthening, institutional capacity building and product marketing. Now based in Cairo, Egypt, he is fluent in English, Spanish, Arabic and French, and has designed, written, and produced educational films, public awareness campaigns, and community mobilization materials for local and national efforts in a variety of countries.
