Dr. Gwen Knight's research focuses on investigating new methods to control the spread of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in South Africa, with a particular focus on the impact of antiretroviral therapy and isoniazid preventative therapy on long term TB disease incidence. She recently worked on a collaborative project to investigate the cost-effectiveness of TB vaccines funded by AERAS as well as a project to determine the population level impact on transmission of a shortening of TB drug regimens funded by the TB Alliance. Dr. Knight is part of the TB modelling team and is affiliated with both the Centre for the Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases and the TB Centre.
