Richard White, BSc, MSc, PhD is Professor in Infectious Disease Modelling in the Centre for the Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases and the TB Centre at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He is Director of the TB Modelling and Analysis Consortium (TB MAC) and leads the TB Modelling Group.
Prof. White was awarded a BSc in Physics from Durham University and an MSc in Medical Demography from LSHTM. He was also awarded a PhD in infectious disease modelling in 2006, led the establishment of the LSHTM’s Centre for the Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases in 2007, and was awarded a Methodology Research Fellowship from the Medical Research Council in 2009.
Prof. White's research focus is the mathematical and statistical modelling of the transmission and control of infectious diseases, particularly HIV and TB. He has co-authored over 110 peer-reviewed scientific publications and is on the Editorial Board for STI, an Invited Editor for PNAS, and a permanent reviewer for Lancet Respiratory Medicine.
