Amit Summan is a Research Analyst based in CDDEP's New Delhi office. He received his M.A. in Economics and International Development from the University of Guelph. He has conducted research on a number of topics as a Research Consultant and Research Intern; some of his past projects include: creating policy recommendations to curb counterfeit drug production in India, forecasting retail food prices, developing a model to rank factors effecting food safety, and profiling self-help groups of disadvantaged peoples. His research interests broadly focus on optimal utilisation of fiscal policy tools to support economic and social outcomes for marginalised groups. His interests outside of work include: dancing, playing the guitar, and reading.
