The editors and authors for Volume 9 gathered for an all-day meeting at the University of California Washington Center in Washington, DC on October 6, 2013. The goals of the meeting were to:
- Review chapters and allow authors to provide feedback to one another.
- Fine-tune the main messages and recommendations within each chapter and the volume as a whole.
- Develop plans for dissemination of the volume.
The meeting was held in conjunction with the American College of Surgeons' Annual Clinical Congress.
