The international Decision Support Initiative (iDSI) is the latest global initiative from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation that aims to increase the use of evidence and data in health spending in low- and middle-income countries (see 3ie for another example). iDSI will serve as a clearinghouse of information and experience on how to use more systematic data, decision processes, and transparency in setting health priorities. It will offer technical assistance through NICE International and other partners for applying priority-setting to universal health coverage planning. It emerged from the recommendations of a Center for Global Development working group led by DCP3 Advisory Committee member Amanda Glassman and with DCP3 Project Director Rachel Nugent as a member.
