The First Annual DCP3 Network meeting was attended by editors leading the development of each topical volume as well as other contributors that make up the DCP3 Network. Discussion centered on the scope and leadership for each volume, as well as the new analytical work to determine how to improve effectiveness, access, uptake and quality of health policies and interventions. Each volume of DCP3 includes new information based on the 2010 Global Burden of Disease (published in December 2012 by the Lancet) and expert elicitation to improve estimates of effectiveness where there is significant uncertainty around important policies. Furthermore, the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the dissemination plan for the DCP3. The editors used the meeting to discuss the status of the nine volumes. Each editor discussed their strategies for completing their volume and sought advice from others on how to tackle specific issues. Importantly, the editors discussed how overlapping segments can be parsed between the volumes. All members of the Network left the meeting with a clear idea of next steps for their contributions to the DCP3.
