Andre Ilbawi

André Ilbawi, M.D. is a fellow in complex surgical oncology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. He graduated magna cum laude then AOA from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his training in General Surgery at the University of Washington and is a final year fellow at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He has twice been inducted into the Gold Humanism Society.

He completed a research fellowship with the Union for International Cancer Control and the Breast Health Global Initiative, supported by the US National Cancer Institute. During this time, he produced Knowledge Summaries for Comprehensive Breast Cancer Control, a novel tool to integrate health policy and clinical care. His current clinical and research efforts focus on cancer care in low-resource settings, health system development, and strengthening cost-effective surgical services.
