Valérie D'Acremont

Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, Global Malaria Programme at the WHO

Valérie D'Acremont is a clinical epidemiologist at the Swiss TPH and one of the nine Pfizer Research Prize 2015 awardees for her paper on febrile illnesses published in the New England Journal of Medicine. The prize is one of the most prestigious awards in Switzerland for a single research paper.

Dr. Acremont led the research team from the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute in Basel and the Policlinique Médicale Universitaire in Lausanne where the causes of febrile illnesses in Tanzanian children was systematically assessed. Dr. Acremont got her PhD in Epidemiology and a Masters in International Health from the University of Basel, Switzerland. Dr. Acremont also received a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Lausanne in Switzerland.
