DCP3 Series Editor Gives TEDMED Talk on Antibiotic Resistance

On September 10, DCP3 series editor Dr. Ramanan Laxminarayan gave a TEDMED talk in Washington, DC on new approaches to antibiotic resistance in a time of weakened efficacy of current drugs and fewer discoveries of new drugs. Dr. Laxminarayan's talk was part of a larger session entitled Stealing Smart which aims to show "how some of the best solutions to problems in health and medicine come from other worlds than the domain where the problem originated or is usually addressed."

The 2014 TEDMED stage program focused on "unlocking imagination in service for health and medicine" and will feature leading experts in science, journalism, education, business and technology.

Dr. Laxminarayan is the lead author for the DCP3 chapter on monitoring and preventing drug resistance which will appear in the Major Infectious Diseases volume.
