DCP3 Project Director and Series Editor Dr. Rachel Nugent chaired the plenary session at the 2015 GLobal NCD Alliance Forum in Sharjah, UAE on November 16, 2015.
The plenary, "Acheiving 25 x 25: Accountability as a Force for Change," promoted accountability as an important driver of political change for NCD prevention and control. The concept of accountability was introduced, as was the three inter-related process involved, namely monitor, review and act. It also highlighted the important role of civil society in accountability at global, regional and national levels, as wellas share effective approaches and strategies deployed by civil society in both the NCD and broader health community in holding governments and the private sector accountable.
