Janet Holt

Janet has recently joined the school health team at the World Bank as a Consultant, where she will working as the coordinator for DCP3 Volume 3 (Child and Adolescent Development).  At the World Bank, Janet will be working with the African Program for Onchocerciasis Control and other projects. Janet comes to the Bank from USAID where she worked as a Global Health Fellows Program II Intern in HIV Care and Treatment, within the Office of HIV/AIDS. While at USAID, Janet conducted a research project on retention in HIV care and treatment and she spent time in South Sudan contributing to a funding proposal for treatment and in Tanzania, supporting a large combination prevention trial.

Janet served in the US Peace Corps in Mozambique, where she taught science at a rural secondary school and coordinated several youth health projects. Before Peace Corps, Janet worked at AIDS Project Los Angeles as a Treatment Educator, providing counseling and referrals to help clients manage their medications and care. She also spent six months with a small NGO in northern Tanzania, coordinating youth HIV prevention campaigns in rural communities. Janet has a Master's in International Education Policy from Stanford University and a Bachelor's in Human Biology and African Studies, also from Stanford.
