Research Analyst, Equity Consequences

Moutushi Majumder is a Research Analyst at Public Health Foundation of India, New Delhi. She is working with Dr. Ramanan Laxminarayan on economic analysis related to equity consequences and is suporting the development of the agent-based model for Volume 8 (Mental, Neurological and Substance Use Disorders).

Moutushi is pursuing her PhD at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi researching noncommunicable disease patterns.  Her focus is on social, economic and demographic factors affecting women with particular interest in nutritional and physical activity aspects of the obese. Being a demographer, her other studies have focused on issues related to gender based violence, family planning issues and maternal, adolescent and reproductive health. Her past research includes the comparative study on prevalence of domestic violence and a comparative analysis of selected states in India.  As part of her M.Phil work, she has also written and presented papers on issues relating to Adolescent Sexual Health, RTIs/STIs, acute respiratory infections amongst children, family planning practices and reproductive health.
