Economic Factors in Defining the School-Age Package

Authors: Meena Fernandes, Elisabetta Aurino, Sue Horton

This chapter presents the investment case for providing an integrated package of essential health services for children attending primary schools in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The essential package consists of low-cost interventions that can be delivered through schools to address a wide range of health conditions. The target population is children ages 5–14 years, although older children may be reached where gross exceeds net enrollment.
